PREVIEW:

Both Manchester clubs go into Wednesday night’s Champions League match with the possibility of being eliminated from the Champions League.
United have their destiny in their own hands. A win or draw against Basel will see them through to the last 16. United could also top the table if they win better than Benfica. With all three scenarios possible, this should be a match to watch out for.
United’s neighbors City however have to win against Bayern Munich and hope Villareal will beat Napoli.
United will be without Carrick who is suspended and Hernandez who was injured last weekend’s match against Villa. Sir Alex will look to Danny Welbeck to replace the injured Hernandez.
Phil Jones scored his first United goal last weekend and could start in midfield once again in absence of Carrick.
It was a pulsating 3-3 draw at Old Trafford when the teams met last time in September. Ashley Young scored a late equaliser for United.
This is definitely United’s most important match of the season so far and a defeat would be disastrous for the 3 time Champion League winners.
