SWANSEA CITY vs MANCHESTER UNITED – REVIEW

    0                      1

It was yet another 1-0 win and yet another unconvincing win for Manchester United in the Premier League this season. This was United’s third consecutive 1-0 victory in the premier league.  Javier Hernandez’s 11th minute goal was enough to make sure Manchester United won their first ever match against Swansea.

Manchester United’s early goal could have spelled trouble for Swansea, but United never got out of second gear as they lacked lots of creativity.

It was another solid performance at the back, with yet another clean sheet. This was United’s fifth consecutive clean sheet since the 6-1 defeat to City. De Gea, Vidic and Jones had a solid game but it was another mediocre performance from Evra and Ferdinand.

Scott Sinclair missed a sitter in front of goal which could have changed the course of the game. Swansea made it a hard fought victory for United and allowed very few shots on goal. A strong display at the back showed why Swansea were unbeaten at home this season.

United’s midfield lacked creativity with Carrick and Giggs in central positions. Giggs made a fine pass for Chicharito which led to the goal. Carrick was not very influential in the game.

Nani has a disappointing game after scoring a wonderful goal for Portugal midweek. Park was as usual showing some good energy on the field and had a descent game.

Rooney had a quite game and had a few chances to score, but he lacked a bit of sharpness upfront. Havier Hernandez continued his good goal scoring record and netted the only goal of the game.

With Manchester City maintaining the 5 point lead at the top and having a superior goal difference to United, it remains to see whether the lack of goals will come to haunt United at the end of the season.
